Dacsa

In 1968, the company Maicerías Españolas was founded, a family business dedicated to the production of corn semolina for the brewing industry, with the aim of becoming a European benchmark in its sector.

In 1982 the company entered the rice sector creating the Dacsa Rice brand. From the family business level, the creation of the Dacsa Rice brand is of great importance to bring consumers closer to a tradition as deeply rooted in Valencia as rice cultivation.

The name Dacsa, a translation of the word corn into Valencian, is proposed as a way of bringing together two important concepts that define the roots of the company. These concepts are the clear allusion to the production of corn, so important in its beginnings, and the use of Valencian, the native language of its founders and of great importance in the region where its rice is grown.

After many years of work in 2000 together with other companies in the sector, Arroz Dacsa founded the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Arroz de Valencia, with the aim of generating added value to the rice grown in La Albufera de Valencia guaranteeing the highest quality of the product served to its consumers.

Due to the constant effort of the brand to offer its consumers the best rice grown in Valencia, in 2011 it became the first rice brand to obtain the Parcs Naturals brand certification. In this way, Dacsa Rice unequivocally guarantees that its product is grown following the standards of quality and environmental protection required by cultivation in a protected area such as the natural park of La Albufera in Valencia.

Today Dacsa Rice meets the highest quality standards and continues to offer an excellent local product of the best quality due to its careful preparation in a production process of grain by grain selection, highly recommended for the preparation of all traditional Valencian rice dishes.
