The story of Antiu Xixona begins in 1863 with the marriage of Vicente Sanchis Monerris and Maria Teresa Mira Brotons. They produced their turrón and sold it in Barcelona as many turron suppliers did at the time, in the doorways of homes on the Ramblas, gradually opening up more stores in Catalunya and beginning to export to Cuba and the United States in the 1930s.

Antiu Xixona is currently the world's top Jijona and Alicante turrón manufacturer. Both of these types of Turrón are created using 100% natural ingredients (almonds, honey, sugar and egg whites). The use of toasted almonds is one of the key differences with other turrones and marzipans that generally use raw almonds. The process has remained largely unchanged throughout the centuries.
